We have created a range of packaging for the Arabica Food & Spice Company, giving each product its own unique illustration to evoke both flavour and place of origin. The illustrations were inspired by the modern glamour of 1960s Beirut.
Arabica Food and Spice was born of a passion for the food of the Levant — their range is a culinary kaleidoscope of delicacies, showcasing some of the world’s finest food cultures. We developed a word marque (written in both Arabic and English), packaging and branding for their restaurant. Our aim was to bring to life the amazing wealth of flavours through the packaging and branding and to encourage people to try out new tastes. By making the packs themselves beautiful, they would help to convey the pleasures they contain.
After working on the packaging, we began developing the branding for the Arabica Bar & Kitchen in Borough Market, London.
The restaurant interiors were inspired by 1960s Beirut and the riviera of the Eastern Mediterranean. It was an opportunity to use the brand identity in three dimensions for signage, as well as menus and uniforms. We also considered how the packaging would sit in the space and created a retail area to showcase the products.
